This Week at Sport & Fitness |
AROUND THE GYM
Sport & Fitness would like to take this opportunity to express our sincere gratitude to Amy Spittle for her invaluable contributions in promoting our department across various media platforms over the years. Her spell check proved invaluable and her patience, otherworldly. She will be missed.
This year, the shop at Sport & Fitness is excited to expand our fitness apparel collection by adding two exceptional brands: Vuori and Rhone. Joining our current lineup of Lululemon, NIKE, New Balance, Peter Millar Fitness, and Varley, these new additions offer the same high-quality, performance-driven style that our members love. Last week, we introduced some exciting new members of our team. However, we neglected to mention that a few of them will officially begin with the opening of our new facility. Rene Reynoso, a talented massage therapist, will be joining us in January, along with our Esthetician, Jennifer Driskel. Additionally, due to current space restrictions at the hair salon, some of our new salon team members, like Katrina, will be rotating in and out until the new location is up and running.
Over the next six weeks, it may be beneficial to secure your spot with our Pilates instructor, Janet Renslow, who is highly regarded as one of the best in the valley. With the opening of our new Pilates and Gyrotonic space, demand for these sessions is expected to increase, and spots may fill quickly. While our current setup isn't ideal, it's always wise to get on the schedule early.
Please see the link below for our updated services and pricing. A new brochure describing all of our new offerings we be released mid-December. Lastly, we'd like to thank everyone for their valuable suggestions regarding new equipment for the gym and spa. We're excited to announce that we've decided to act on all of these recommendations and are exploring the possibility of renting Acrisure Arena to accommodate the new additions.
"WHEN WE'RE YOUNG, WE SNEAK OUT OF OUR HOUSE TO GO TO PARTIES. WHEN WERE OLD WE SNEAK OUT OF PARTIES TO GO HOME."
See you tomorrow. Wade Miller Director of Sport Courts
Hola Court Sports aficionados,
We are back in full swing, and it is so good to seeing you all back on the courts. Our first week of activities has been spectacular with constant play in all our Court Sports and many of you getting back to your lessons to keep improving your game.
Thanksgiving is around the corner, and I want to encourage you to help your family and guests to have a fantastic experience while they are at Eldorado. I want to kindly remind you on the importance to utilize court sports shoes only (non-marking outsole) while playing Tennis, Pickleball, or POP Tennis. This will allow us all to play our favorite sports and have a fantastic time while participating in our mixers, clinics, and open plays.
Lastly, we have our Fall Live Ball coming up on November 30th, 2024, and I would love to have you all participate in this fast-paced game that is the best mix of cardio with fun. Details below this email on how to sign-up and time of the event.
I am looking forward to seeing you at the courts, and please don't hesitate in contacting me if you have any questions.
See you on the courts,
Borja.

Tournament Results and Upcoming Events |
Dear [USER_TITLE] [USER_LASTNAME], The 2024 Fall Ball Homecoming is officially in the books! The field was divided into 8 flights competing for a spot in Sunday's Champagne Shootout. 10 teams advanced to the shootout and played #14 and #18 to determine the tournament champions. Congratulations to this year's Fall Ball Champions Ken Horacek and Pat Ryan, (pictured above.)
Thank you to all the Ladies who participated in the November 13, "Mad for Plaid" Party Day Highland Skills event on the driving range.
A special reminder: Please stay out of the construction area. Tours are available at 3:00 PM on Thursdays. To sign up for a tour, please contact Tawny Musashi at [email protected] or Member Services. Additionally, the parking lot between the construction area and the Clubhouse driveway is not a cut-through. If you need to get to East Eldorado, please use the main road.
We are pleased to announce the revival of the Eldorado Caddy Program! With just 48-hours notice, we can arrange a caddy for your round of golf. The base fee is $220. If you and your foursome are interested, please contact Scott Kunde at (760) 346-8082.
Our Ladies' Member-Member/Member-Guest is November 20, with the theme of "New Beginnings." Play begins at 9:00 AM, with a breakfast buffet outside the Golf Shop at 8:00 AM. Lunch will follow the round.
We still have spots available for the Men's Member-Member Autumn Classic tournament, which will be held from November 22nd to 23rd. Cocktails and dinner will begin at 5:30 PM on Thursday, November 21st. Attire is jacket (no tie required). Dr. Craig Farnsworth will be our guest speaker at 6:00 PM, prior to dinner. Pari-mutuel betting will be available. Play will begin with a 9:00 AM shotgun start on both Friday and Saturday, followed by lunch after play. We will also have a Super Senior Division for teams with players aged 80 and above, and social members will have the opportunity to participate as well. If you do not have a partner and are interested in playing, please contact the Golf Shop.
For the Autumn Classic, we will be replacing the typical 15/25 rule, which allowed certain handicaps to move to the forward tees. Instead, we will combine players' ages with their white tee handicaps to determine eligibility for the forward tees. Please "click Here" to learn more. (link to special announcement page)
Registration is open for our first Mixed Foursome Couples Tournament on Sunday, December 1. This will be a 9:00 AM shotgun start, with lunch following play. Phone the golf shop, sign up online, or on the mobile app for the fastest way to reserve your place in the field. Guests are welcome to attend.
Be sure to sign up for the 8th Annual President's Cup event. You can sign up online, through the mobile app, or inside the golf pro shop. The deadline for this Men's & Ladies' season-long match play tournament is December 20, 2024. Congratulations to our current champions, Peter Ziegler and Deborah Barkley.
Master PGA Teaching Professional Chris Foley is now on property until November 24. Please call the golf shop or stop by to reserve a lesson with Chris or any other member of the professional staff.
Until next time, Zac Taylor, PGA Director of Golf

Cottage Rental Procedures |
There are 54 Cottages at Eldorado, and all are owned by Eldorado members. Eldorado Country Club does not own nor rent any cottages. Cottage Services acts as the liaison between the Cottage owners and members and guests wishing to rent cottages.
Over the years, the number of Cottages available for rent has greatly diminished. Currently, there are only six cottages that are available to rent at various times throughout the season.

Mah Jongg - Mondays |
| Mah Jongg is a game that originated in China during the Qing dynasty. It is commonly played by four players. Similar to the Western card game rummy, Mah Jongg is a game of skill, strategy, and calculation and involves a degree of chance. The game is played with a set of 144 tiles based on Chinese characters and symbols, although some regional variations may omit some tiles and/or add unique tiles. Contact Members Chris Becket or Jane Delanoy if you would like to join the fun.
Click here to learn how to play. Mondays at 1:00 PM starting Jan. 2 |

|
|
Rummikub - Tuesdays |
| Rummikub is a rummy-like game that you play with tiles instead of cards. The game consists of tiles in 4 colors. Each color has 2 sets of tiles from 1-13, so it's similar to playing with 2 decks of cards. You also have 2 joker tiles. To win the game, play all your tiles before anyone else does by making sets of groups and runs.
